The hammering of life will never end!
This is a reality that dwells in disbelief by most and is substituted by the belief that “suffering will continue until I reach this goal or achievement or elevated mental or spiritual state”.
The truth is that suffering is not only OK but in the pursuit of growth must be sought out and desired.
Suffering is a hammer, and if we are not intentional with how we position ourselves, its lessons will not only be wasted but deform us into lesser versions of our current selves.
Think of yourself as a molten blob of steel, malleable and easily formed by it’s external circumstances. Without clear direction or intentionality, you are going to be hammered into a useless block of metal on the ground, useless and beaten.
What is the way out?
Find your anvil.
God is our anvil- in our endless pursuit in seeking God and thus our purpose on this earth, we are able to use suffering the way it was designed for us and become shaped not into aimless blobs of metal, but into beautiful, intentionally crafted tools capable of incredible things.
There is no avoiding the hammering of life, but there is a way to use it to become who you were meant to be, by willingly laying yourself down on an anvil, and letting life’s challenges mold you into something incredible.
Side note: Your purpose will always take form in service to the people around you.
Self-gratification is not a purpose.
Making money is not a purpose.
Those things are fine, but they do not define who you are.
Be intentional, and be relentless, not giving way to your hardships, but taking advantage of them for what they are and the purpose they serve. There is a lesson in everything you go through.
